This free Halloween scavenger hunt printable is a great way to spice up spooky season with your family or students! Perfect for a crisp fall evening or for a fun Halloween day activity with peers or friends.
It wasn’t until I had kids that I felt truly excited for Halloween. I’ve always enjoyed seasonal movies (yes, I will watch Hocus Pocus every year) and of course, tapping into the candy supply, but I’m not one to dress up. Maybe the odd set of cat ears but that’s about it. For my kids, though? Cue the spooky music.
We love a good hunt around here, and what better time of year to do a scavenger hunt than in the fall on Halloween? Spiders are crawling, witches are flying, and all the ghosts are ready to spook your kids during this super fun themed scavenger hunt! All you need to do is set the stage for your kiddies – and if you are a big fan of Halloween, chances are you’ve already got some of the decorations needed for this fun activity!
Halloween Scavenger Hunt Tips:
- For the youngsters, consider leaving some of the more complicated objects in more obvious places, like lit candles on a clean (out of reach) surface, words and phrases like “Boo!” and “Trick-or-treat” near the front door or on the refrigerator, and a witches potion in a peculiar glass jar to differentiate from what’s commonly used in the kitchen.
- For larger groups, or if you have small children involved, separating into smaller groups can make this Halloween activity more spooky, fun and engaging! Encourage the older kids to team up with the younger kids.
Note that this type of scavenger hunt does not include clue cards and instead uses a simple checklist.
