This free Christmas scavenger hunt printable is a great way to keep your kids entertained this holiday season! It’s perfect as a Christmas Eve activity or for a festive party!
Christmas is one of the BEST times of year. Quality family time, good food and drinks, holiday gatherings, cozy movies, and nights by the fire. But let’s be honest, it can also be a little chaotic – especially if you have kids to keep busy… while you’re entertaining.
That’s why it’s always a good idea to tap into your Christmas traditions to give you AND your kids something to look forward to. A holiday scavenger hunt is the perfect way to bring the whole family together each year, and allows you to flex your creative juices!
There’s no denying that kids love the thrill of a race and competition. Scavenger hunts are a simple way to have a great time while also having your kids work on their patience and problem solving skills.
If you’re hosting Christmas this year and will have a house full of littles that will need something to do so you and the adults can “adult,” give this Christmas scavenger hunt printable a try! Print off a bunch of the PDF files to accommodate your group. Consider adding a prize or a small gift from Santa for the people who can check off their list the fastest! Everyone loves an incentive.
If you aren’t entertaining and simply want a fun game to offer your kids, simply print enough for home. You can do it on Christmas Eve as a fun way to get the kids excited for Santa’s arrival. Or, you can do it on Christmas morning before gifts (or in between if you want them to take a little break!).

Christmas Scavenger Hunt Tips:
- For the youngsters, consider leaving some of the more complicated objects in more obvious places, like under the Christmas tree or near the Christmas presents. Staying on-theme will be helpful!
- For larger parties, or if you have a lot of small children involved, working with small groups can make the activity more fun and engaging! Encourage the older kids to team up with the younger kids.
Note that this type of scavenger hunt does not include clue cards and instead uses a simple checklist.
